"Clearly the new neighborhood Health Center will provide adequate space to enhance the
delivery of health care services within the City of Niagara Falls.

Additionally, however, it is another example of the coordination and collaboration
among charitable organizations, grant providers, government and the citizens
of this community to help Niagara Falls become a better place to live."

The Patrick P. Lee Foundation Supports Mount St. Mary’s Neighborhood Health Center Project With $125,000 Grant

Mount St. Mary’s Hospital and Health Center has announced that The Patrick P. Lee Foundation has approved a $125,000 grant for the new Mount St. Mary’s Neighborhood Health Center in the City of Niagara Falls.

The announcement was made by hospital President and Chef Executive Officer Judith A. Maness and Patrick P. Lee, chairman, and Frederic L. Cook, executive director of the Lee Foundation. Funds will be used to complete construction of the $1.6 million facility that is scheduled to begin to see patients at the corner of Profit Lane and Ninth Street in Niagara Falls on April 12, 2010.

“We are gratified with the tremendous response we have received for our funding requests and this support from the Patrick P. Lee Foundation is further evidence of the importance of this project in service to our patients in the community,” said Ms. Maness. “Our Neighborhood Health Center provides necessary health care services in an underserved area of the City of Niagara Falls. The physicians, health care professionals, and patients who utilize the services will receive a facility they deserve to provide an even higher quality of health care with even more services.

” Work on the 6,500 square foot facility began in July 2009. The new facility will double the size and capacity of the hospital’s current health center at 3003 Ninth Street. Mount St. Mary’s Hospital has operated the Neighborhood Health Center at 3003 Ninth Street in Niagara Falls for the past decade. It currently operates in about 3,000 square feet of space rented from the Niagara Falls Housing Authority in the Doris Jones Building. In 2007, the Neighborhood Health Center will serve nearly 9,000 patients.

However, as the need for healthcare in this area of the City of Niagara Falls continues to increase, Mount St. Mary’s has determined that more space is needed. “Because of our space restrictions, it takes up to 60 days to schedule an appointment for a new patient. We find this unacceptable, but without more space, there is nothing we can do,” said Ms. Maness. Mount St. Mary’s acquired land near it current facility for the new Neighborhood Health Center.
