The Patrick Lee Foundation Scholarship is a $25,000 annual award

Jessica Rozycki, junior aerospace and mechanical engineering major, is the 2010/2011 recipient of the Patrick P. Lee Engineering Term Scholarship. Her dedication to be a top student and involvement in many extra-curricular activities made her an outstanding candidate for the award.

Rozycki is president for the FSAE Parks Racing Team, president of the Association of Parks College Students and social chair of the Society of Women Engineers. She also works as a lab assistant for Tom Bever in the machine shop and is a student technician for Frank Coffey in the structures and aero lab.


About the Scholarship

  • One highly-qualified Parks engineering student will receive a $25,000 scholarship for the academic year ($12,500 per semester).

    Scholarship Details

  • • Academic standing requirements: Students must be a 60+ credit hour, junior or senior at Parks College of Engineering, Aviation and Technology.
       Funds are to be used only for tuition, fees, room and board, books and supplies.

    • Major and GPA requirements: Applicant must be majoring in an engineering academic program at Parks College, with an
       overall GPA of 3.0 or above.

    • Financial Aid will not be considered in awarding this scholarship.

    • This is a stackable scholarship, however the funding should not be more than the total cost of tuition,
       fees, room and board and books and supplies.

    • The scholarship is renewable upon maintenance of 3.0 GPA, full time status and course work of study must be completed in four years. If
       applicant is a Junior they must include a self-appraisal report between the junior and senior year listing accomplishments from the junior year
       and goals for the senior year. If applicant is a Senior they must include a self-appraisal report, at the end of the school year, listing
       accomplishments and future goals.

    • Essay requirements: Applicant must include an essay of 500 words, addressing why they chose to become an engineer.

    • Resume requirements: Applicant must submit a resume that includes: academic achievement with GPA; past work experience; extracurricular
       activities and achievements (to include all University and College level student group involvement)
       and any professional organization memberships.

    • Recommendation requirements: One letter of recommendation is required with application.

    General Award Criteria:

    To be eligible for these awards, students must meet all of the following criteria:

    • GPA in good standing with the University
    • Have at least one major within Parks College
    • Meet any additional criteria noted by each individual award

    Note: If you are applying for more than one scholarship, your letter of recommendation should be pertinent to the scholarship for which you are applying. The letter of recommendation may be written by a past school, church or community leader or a Saint Louis University or Parks College faculty.

    Awarding Process and Expectations of Recipients for all annual scholarships To be considered for the awards, please sign and submit application(s) by the next deadline in 2011. By signing and submitting an application or applications, you are providing, to the best of your knowledge, accurate information and granting the Parks College Scholarship selection committee and those persons responsible for managing this scholarship (Financial Aid, Office of Development) the right to review your academic records and other personal information that may aid in awarding this scholarship to you.

    Notifications will be made by September. Awards are good for one academic year only; everyone must re-apply to be eligible to receive the award for an additional year.

    Each recipient will be expected to participate in stewardship projects to thank the donor of the scholarship he or she receives. This may involve, but is not limited to, writing a letter of appreciation, submitting a photo and biographical information and attending a complimentary dinner or brunch to meet the donor(s).
